Pakistan’s Sindh Province Minister Ghulam Murtaza Baloch Died of Coronavirus

Karachi : A provincial minister died of a COVID-19 infection on Tuesday in southeastern Sindh province of Pakistan. Sindh’s Human Resources Minister Ghulam Murtaza Baloch was found infected with COVID-19 on 14 May, according to the newspaper ‘Dawn’. He shared this information on Twitter and appealed to people to pray for his speedy recovery.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said in a statement, “Baloch died due to coronavirus. He was a brave and hardworking member of the PPP. It is difficult to find someone else in their place.”

With 3938 new cases of coronavirus reported in Pakistan, the number of infected people increased to 76398 on Tuesday, while the number of people who lost their lives due to this deadly disease has increased to 1621. The Health Ministry said that 78 people have died due to coronavirus in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of dead to 1621.

According to the ministry, a total of 27110 people have recovered from the disease. There are 29647 patients of coronavirus in Sindh, 27850 in Punjab, 10485 in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, 4514 in Balochistan, 2893 in Islamabad and 271 in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Authorities have conducted 577,974 tests so far of which 16548 tests have been done in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that people should learn to live with COVID-19 till a vaccine develops. Khan addressed the media after chairing a meeting of the National Coordination Committee, a body set up to deal with the epidemic. He said, “Until the vaccine is discovered, the coronavirus will not go away. We have to learn to live with it and we can live with it if we take precautions.”
