Pakistan should turn secular from Islamic State – Gen Rawat

Pune: NP NEWS 24 ONLINE- In a message to Pakistan, Indian Army Chief General Bipin Rawat on Friday said that Pakistan should turn secular from Islamic State, if they have to stay together with India, which is a secular state.

He was speaking to journalist sidelines of passing out parade (POP) of the 135th course of the National Defence Academy (NDA).

When asked about the Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s statement that his country is willing to take two steps for every step forward by India, Gen Rawat said Pakistan should first take steps against terrorists operating from its soil.

NDA POP of 135th course

Gen Bipin Rawat, Chief of Army Staff was the Reviewing Officer for the Passing out Parade of 135 course on 30 Nov 18.

A total of 261 cadets graduated from the Academy as they passed through the portals of the prestigious Khetrapal Parade Ground. This included 186 cadets from the Army, 21 cadets from the Navy and 54 cadets from the Air Force.

This includes 16 cadets from the friendly foreign countries also passed out from the Academy. The cadets are from Afghanistan, Bhutan, Kyrgyzstan, Lesotho, Tanzania, Tajikistan, Mauritius, Vietnam and Sri Lanka.

Gen Bipin Rawat, Chief of Army Staff reviewed the parade and addressed the Passing-out-Course cadets wherein he complemented the cadets for their exceptional drill movements. He congratulated the cadets and parents of the Passing out Course. He mentioned the pride he felt in reviewing the Parade. He also made a special mention of the award winners.

The Reviewing Officer also appreciated the efforts put in by the Commandant, the officers and staff at NDA for having successfully turned boys into scholar warriors.
