Beware of this phone call, your bank account might get empty!

NP NEWS 24 ONLINE- Citizens of India who own Aadhar cards need to be aware now, as the frauds have invented another new technology to fool people and loot money from their bank accounts.

A voice note has been issued by the Government of India, spread by Chhattisgarh police which is getting viral over the social media. The Chhattisgarh police has requested all the citizens to listen to the audio carefully, forward it and take necessary precautionary steps.

The audio informs to beware of a fake Aadhar card verification call which will ask for your Aadhar card Number. The fake caller is an electronically generated voice will tell you that he/she is speaking on behalf of Idea, Airtel, Vodafone, whichever mobile operator the receiver has.

The electronic voice on the call will tell you to press 1 if you have Aadhar card and the number will be asked from you since the Aadhar card is linked with the bank account number. Some other buttons will be told to press, after which the OTP(One Time Password) received on your phone will be asked from you.

And, once you send the OTP, immediately your Aadhar card linked bank account will be empty. All the cash will be vanished within no time and followed by which the call will be disconnected automatically. The call receiver will be unable to reach the caller after redialling.

The police has requested the citizens not to tell their Aadhar Card numbers in any way. Police told that if your operator or bank needs your Aadhar Card number then their executive will contact you and tell you to submit your signed copy to the office.

A lot many cases of online frauds have come up lately, and the innocent people are being targeted in various ways. In such circumstances, the people need to be really aware of every step they take and believe to any such fake callers.
