One hug from Sushma Swaraj changed lives of 2 HIV kids

NPnews24 Online, Thiruvananthapuram: Bensy and her brother Benson Chandy, who was infected by HIV, was hug by Sushma Swaraj publicly in Kerala Village in 2003 and photo is being circulated across the internet after her sudden death.

Sushma died suffering a cardiac arrest in AIIMS, New Delhi. Photographed embracing Bensy and her brother Benson Chandy were infected by HIV. Aids is not spread by “touching and hugging” and the society must learn this,

Sushma is being fondly remembered by Bensy and Benson’s grandmother Sallamma,70, and said her hug changed the children’s lives forever. Sushma Swaraj’s death has left Sallamma shocked as she said, “Had it not been for her benevolence that she showed up on my two HIV positive grandchildren, Benson and Bency, in full public glare here in 2003, our lives would have been in absolute misery.”

Bency died in 2010 as she succumbed to AIDS. Benson will turn 23 now.
