One day Fasting by Maratha Kranti Morcha on September 29

From last two years, the Maratha community had made a huge movement for reservation. But two months ago, this movement turns into violence. The Maratha Kranti Morcha did violent actions at several places on  August 9.

As per the Maratha community, Government is fulfilling the demands made by this community, that’s why they are going for one-day fast on September 29 from the 9 o’clock in the morning at the Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Research, Training and Human Development Institution (SARTHI), Pune.

The Maratha community had on fast in between 30 May 2017 and 4 June 2017, on the Azad Maidan in Mumbai. At this time, the Minister of Home Affairs Ranjit Patil had given a written assurance by the order of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. It was mentioned that the SARTHI would start working until July 2017.

The SARTHI institute’s plan is not ready yet, after completion of more than one-year duration. Excepting the opening ceremony, there is no other activities take place till now. Then, the demand was made by the Maratha community on March 29, 2017, to file the complaint against the Chief Minister and the Minister of Home Affairs for allegedly to fraud the Maratha community by not fulfilling the written assurances given by the government.

After filing the complaint at Azad Maidan Police Station, on the request of Manojkumar Sharma, a meeting was held with the Minister of Home Affairs, in which he assured that the demands of the community will be completed soon. Again, that assurance also has not fulfilled.

Sadanand More, who has been appointed as the head of SARHTI, is not working properly since last two years. Maratha community is very disappointed. Because of this, the demand is going on for removing him from the post.

There was the announcement of making the hostels for Maratha community students. It should be starting every district level as like of other backward classes hostels are run by the government. And Immediately financial assistance should be given to the families of the Maratha youths, who have committed suicide during the demand of reservation for the Maratha community.

The one-day fasting will be organized for these major demands and the direction of movement will be decided on this day as said by Sambhaji Patil.

Recently, District Collector Nawal Kishore Ram hold a meeting on September 18, to review the implementation of the decisions taken by the state government after the Maratha community’s huge Movement.
