Nine-year old died in Pandharpur cycle wari

NPnews24 online : In an unfortunate incident, a 9-year-old boy, who was a part of a cycle wari, was killed after he was run over by a truck on the Nashik-Pune Highway.

The incident took place during a Nashik to Pandharpur cycle wari at Sinnar bypass when warkaris stopped there for a tea break.

Victim identified as Prem Niphade was rushed to nearby hosapital, he succumbed to multiple injuries. According to the report, due to the heavy winds, Prem lost his balance and his cycle fell on the side of the highway, in the path of truck that was coming in from behind.

This is the first time that children of nine year old participated in the bicycle rally, this is the eighth year of the cycle rally and 800 cyclists have participated in the rally in the past.
