Music lovers get to witness the tradition of classical music from Punjab on the 3rd day of Sawai

Pune: NP NEWS 24 On the 3rd day of 66th Sawai Gandharva Bhimsen Mahotsav, music lovers got a chance to listen to some amazing compositions from the tradition of classical music from Punjab which were presented by Ragi Balwant Singh Namdhari.

The first session on this day opened with the performance by Vocalist Aparna Panashikar. She presented Raag Lajwanti. She also performed a Meera Bhajan ‘Chod Mat Jaiyo Re’ which is sung by her mother and Guru Meera Panashikar.

She was followed by Ragi Balwant Singh Namdhari who performed some Bandish compositions of Jaipur and Talwandi Gharana. He presented the compositions ‘Chiranjivi Raho Dono’, ‘Jagat Janani Jagadambe Bhawani’, ‘Baras Rahi Kari Kari Badariya’ and also some Punjabi Shabad Kirtan compositions which got a huge response from the audience.
