Mumbai Police Chief issue notices to 12 officers

Npnews24 online, Mumbai: Police Commissioner Sanjay Barve has issued show-cause notices to 12 police personnel who bypassed him and submitted transfer applications directly to the Maharashtra’s Directorate General of Police.

As per the rules, an officer has to submit a request of transfer to another unit to the chief of the unit they are serving in, which in this case was the Mumbai Police commissioner.

Frequent transfer of police personnel is a large standing issue and they find it difficult to settle down, so pre-request to the higher authorities directly will have to face with the action.
