MPSC struggling with lower manpower, interview process slows down

NPnews24 Online Pune: Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) has been struggling with lower manpower, for the past one year. This has slowed down the process of candidate interviews in the state, leading to delays in recruitment.

While the Commission is supposed to have a five-member panel and a chairperson, to conduct interviews, presently, there are just two members, one of whom is the acting chairperson.

“Since the former chairman of MPSC VN More retired last year, the Commission has not recruited a full-time person in his place. Chandrashekhar Oak, who has taken the charge, was one of the panel members, who is just an acting chairman,” MPSC candidate Mahesh Bade said.

Sources from MPSC too have confirmed that while the interviews are constantly taking place at the Commission, the process has become very slow since only two people have been conducting these interviews, while candidates keep coming in.

Bade also added that this has delayed appointments of the candidates who have long cleared their examinations
