MLA Madhuri Misal new Pune BJP President

Pune : NPnews24 online – MLA from Parvati Madhuri Misal has been appointed as the new President of the  Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Pune.  Misal has succeeded seniors party leader Yogesh Gogawale after the latter was elevated to the State unit’s vice-president’s post.

Misal is serving her third term as an MLA from Parvati and and has taken charge of the BJP’s city unit in the run-up to the forthcoming Maharashtra State Assembly polls which are due in October.
BJP sources said Misal’s biggest challenge, as its city unit chief, would be to continue the party’s winning streak in the coming State assembly elections.

Misal had done a lot of work being the MLA from Parvati for three terms. She had taken up various citizen friendly initiatives during her tenure in the State legislature and expected her to further strengthen the party’s base across the district.

Misal is the first woman city president in Pune and her elevation to the post would lead to more opportunities to the woman workers in the party. The BJP leadership, in the reshuffle ahead of the polls, also appointed corporator Ganesh Bidkar general secretary of its city unit.
