Minor who shot at Jamia has a FB Profile Named ‘Rambhakta Gopal’, “Aazadi De Raha Hoon” – Wrote Several FB Post Before Firing

Noida : npnews24 Online – Gopal, a minor who shot at Jamia, Delhi, is a resident of Noida’s Jewar. He has written his name as ‘Rambhakta Gopal’ in his Facebook profile. Gopal hails from Ghodiwala locality of Noida Jewar. Gopal’s father Rajendra Sharma runs a paan shop. Gopal is currently in police custody. Before firing in Jamia, he had posted on Facebook – “Aazadi De raha Hoon (I am giving freedom)”.

Father Rajendra Sharma says that my son has never fought. He was a studious boy. People of the locality are saying that Gopal has become active on Facebook for more than three years. His father Rajendra Sharma has arrived to Delhi after Gopal was detained following the shootout.

Many Facebook live before the event
Gopal has added ‘Rambhakta’ in front of his name on the Facebook profile. His profile is filled with inflammatory posts. He also did several Facebook live before the event. These posts include pictures of the Protest and some of them are written by him. A day before on January 29, he wrote in a post, ‘Pehla Badla Tera Hoga Bhai Chandan’. He is seen with Deepak Sharma on a Facebook profile. Deepak Sharma also came into the discussion a few days ago on social media talking about ‘Hindu interests’.

“Take care of my house”
Gopal posted before the firing in Jamia, “I am giving freedom.” He wrote in a post- “Take care of my house” in this post, he also put an emoji with folded hands. In a post he wrote “Shaheen Bhaag, game over”. In another post, he wrote – “On my last journey, take me wrapped into saffron cloth and shout Jai Shri Ram slogans.”

Police did not take action for long
The police continued to ignore Gopal, who was firing during the march from Jamia Millia Islamia University to Rajghat in protest against the CAA and NRC. The people present at the site of the incident alleged that the Delhi Police did not take action for long after seeing the weapon in Gopal’s hand. DCP Chinmay Biswal of South East Delhi said, “The young man is seen waving a pistol in the open. We are investigating the video we have. He is being questioned.
