MEMS Ambulances provide medical assistance to 1154 in Ganesh festival and immersion procession

The dial 108 ambulance of state government helped around 1154 People providing them medical help and emergency transport to hospitals during Ganesh immersion procession in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad.  Nearly 40 ambulances were deployed in PMC and PCMC area, comprising of Advance Life Support (ALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).

The service has catered 25 Emergency Patients and provided On-Scene Treatment to 176 Patients during 23rd and 24th September. While 10 Days of Ganesh Festival this year, Overall, 110 Emergency Patients have been transferred to nearby Healthcare Facilities and 868 Patients have been treated On-Scene, told by officials.

Maharashtra Emergency Medical Services (MEMS) under which dial 108 ambulance program is being run by the government,  had been in coordination with PMC, PCMC, Department of Public Health, Disaster Management Offices, Local Police and Fire Department, All Major Ganesh Mandals, Dhol Pathaks and other relevant Agencies like Pune

Doctor’s Association, Rotary Club etc.

There was the essential and effective deployment of MEMS Ambulances

across all areas in Pune covering all Natural Immersion sites and some important strategic Artificial

Immersion Sites to cater to any kind of Emergency promptly.

Ambulances were deployed on Procession routes at Vijay Talkies Chowk, Belbaug Chowk, Alka Chowk, Tilak Chowk along with major Visarjan Ghats in PMC and PCMC area, said, officials.

Dr. Vedvyas More, district manager of ‘Dial 108’ said, “We provided on-scene medical treatment and health advice for the needy while they immediately transferred critical patients requiring urgent medical attention to nearest

healthcare facilities with no deaths reported.”
