Man pain in stomach, Doctors find 452 metal items

NPnews24 Online, Ahmedabad: In a bizarre incident, 452 metals items weighing almost 4kgs were found in a man’s stomach after doctors performed an operation on him at a civil hospital in Ahmedabad. Nail cutters, safety pins, nuts and bolts as well as coins were some of the items that were found in his stomach.

28 year old was suffering from a mental illness. The man admitted to the civil hospital from a mental institution after he complained of stomach ache. Soon doctor did a X-ray and reports detected metal items in his stomach.

Doctors, in fact, said that the man is suffering from Schizophrenia and has been consuming the metal items after being instructed by another person to do so. It is also possible that the man is of the opinion that he is supposed to eat the metal items as food.
