Man killed in accident at Tadigutta Chowk

A 39-year-old man died in accident near Tadigutta Chowk, Mundhwa, on Saturday evening, when he fell down from his Activa and came under rear wheel of a mini-truck (Tata 909).

The deceased has been identified as Sushil Maharaj Pandita, a native of Jammu and Kashmir, who currently resided in Keshavanagar, Mundhwa. He worked with a private company.

Based on complaint from API Pandit Hanmantrao Rejitwad, an FIR has been registered with Mundhwa police station against truck driver Subhash Daulat Mairale of Chikhali.

According to police, around 6.30 pm the truck was going from Pinglevasti towards Tadigutta Chowk when Pandita tried to go from left side. He lost balance and fell down, and he was ran over by the rear wheel of the mini-truck opposite the Gym Nation. Local residents rushed him to a hospital in Koregaon Park, where he was declared dead on arrival.

Police have arrested the driver for offence under section 304a (causing death due to negligence) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
