Man arrested after his Ford car knocks down several persons in Bibvewadi

A businessman has been arrested by Bibvewadi police station, under Pune city police, after several persons were injured by his Ford car. The incident took place around 7 pm on Saturday in Upper Indiranagar.

The arrested accused has been identified as Ambuj Kumar Surajchandra Sinha, a resident of Pisoli. He had come to the area for buying flowers for worship. He had parked the car on the road and went shopping with his wife. As the car was not on neutral and handbrake not applied, the car went on injuring eight persons including children.

A police patrolling team soon reached the spot after getting information. The injured persons were rushed to the hospital. Police said that nobody had sustained serious injuries.

Father-in-law killed by the son-in-law; wife and mother-in-law injured

Based on the complaint from Raju Mashak Shaikh (26) of Bibvewadi, police have charged accused Sinha of offenses under sections 279 (rash driving), 338 (causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
