Mahabaleshwar: Local cricketer dies by suicide after updating status on social media

Mahabaleshwar (Dist. Satara): Cricketer Sandeep Subhash Bhilare (35, resident of Ganeshnagar Society, Mahabaleshwar) died by suicide at his residence on Sunday (February 7) night, the police said. The cause of the suicide is yet to be investigated.

Sandeep Bhilare, an all-rounder local cricketer, had updated a status on his social media saying, “Take care of my parents and child”. Upon seeing Sandeep’s status, some friends called Sandeep’s close relatives on Sunday night and gave this information, the police said.

According to the police, the relatives then went to Sandeep’s house. The door to his house was locked from the inside. After not getting any response, his relatives forced opened the door and found Sandeep dead. Sandeep is survived by his parents, a wife, and a 1-year-old son.
