With the aims to increase the environmental literacy and enhance awareness among students by reaching out to schools and colleges all over India the Pune based TERRE Policy Centre has announced the first round of the fourth edition of TERRE Olympiad, a national level based online quiz competition on environment-related issues from August 16.

This quiz competition is an outstanding learning platform for students and serves the purpose of encouraging the younger generation to understand and contribute towards the future sustainability. More than testing students’ intelligence and knowledge, the quiz has been inspiring students in getting sensitive towards the various environmental concerns and the negative impacts that we are causing to our planet Earth. The three categories where students can register are Sapling (Class V to IX), Plant (Class X to XII) and Tree (Undergraduate students).

There is no fee or charges to participate in this exam. Registrations are open and student or school can register for this exam till 16th of September by visiting on our website i.e. www.terregreenolympiad.com  At present from School 4548

TERRE Olympiad will be conducted in two rounds. The first round portal will be open from August 16 to September 16 and the second round for the shortlisted students will be from November 15 to November, 30. The first round will have 50 MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions) and students must try to finish the quiz with correct answers in the shortest period of time. The shortlisted students will be intimated for the second level, which will have relatively higher difficulty level in the questions. The winners of Sapling and Plant categories will receive interesting prizes such as laptop, tablets, hard drive, calculators, kindles, 32GB pen drives. The winners of Tree category will receive exciting opportunities of internship in MNCs (Multi-National Companies) or visits to National Park/ Sanctuary. Top 1000 students in all categories will receive a TERRE Gift hamper as a consolation prize for their efficient performance in TERRE Olympiad.

Top three schools in each category will receive the school award for maximum student participation which will be a trophy and certificate. A school or College in each category. From the rural area will also receive award for maximum student participation. All the prizes will be awarded at the hands of Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Prakash Javadekar.
