Khadakwasla Dam to release 9,416 cusecs water

Endless showers of rain in Pune have already caused a lot of problems in the life of Pune citizens. Not only in Pune, but many other parts of the country like Kerala are in trouble due to heavy rainfall. In the midst of all, a large amount of water is being released from various dams every now and then.

The rainfall in Pune is creating trouble in lives of people not only in terms of rains resulting in a heavy traffic jam, various diseases due to contaminated water or common cold due to such climatic conditions. Also, continuous rainfall in Pune is not letting the metro station work to start.

As per the reports by the administration, 9416 cusecs water is to be released by Khadakwasla dam on Friday evening 8 pm which is a yet lesser amount than the previous one. As 18491 cusecs of water have already been released by dams in the past few days. And, now decrease in cusec is a symbol that rainfall has decreased after a heavy rainfall being witnessed in Pune from past few days.

According to the reports, within 24 hours, Temghar has witnessed 45 mm of rainfall till date, 359 mm of rainfall was witnessed from June 1, till date 2.33 TMC of water has been stored in dam and 62. 74 mm of rainfall has been witnessed till date. 787 cusec of water of water shall be released from Temghar dam to Mutha River.

Panshet dam has witnessed, 77 mm of rainfall in 24 hours, 2016 mm of rainfall was witnessed from June 1, till date 10.56 TMC of water has been stored in the dam, and 100 mm of rainfall has been witnessed till date. 2931 cusec of water shall be released from Panshet dam to Ambi River and hydro-electricity of 620 units has been generated.

Varasgaon Dam will release 4440 cusecs of water to Mose River. It has witnessed 17 mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours, 2002 mm of rainfall since June, 12.82 TMC stored, 100 mm total rainfall.

Khadakwasla dam will release 13981 cusec water such as the probability. Gates of Khadakwasla dam have been opened. 2 mm rainfall has been witnessed in 24 hours which is a less amount, 538 mm of rainfall since June, 1.97TMC water stored and 100 mm rainfall till date.

The total water stored in dams is 27.77 TMC and last year 25.27 TMS water. High units of hydro-electricity are being generated from various dams all over Pune as well.
