Irritated 64-year-old man threw neighbour’s cat from 15th floor; arrested

NP NEWS 24 ONLINE- An animal’s life is precious and even a thought of harming it is brutal, as  its protection is the duty of a human being. A 64-year-old man out of frustration and uncontrollable anger threw his neighbour’s cat from 15th floor of his building.

This incident took place on Saturday evening. He grabbed the cat and started beating it brutally until he got frustrated and decided to throw the cat out of his balcony leading to the cat’s death on the spot.

The owner of cat, Abdul Shaikh filed a complaint with the Kasarvadavali police.

According to police, the accused, Shivram Panchal was a resident of Tetonia building who lived with his son, daughter-in-law and grandson.

Panchal has been found guilty by the police of his crime and he told police that his grandson brought the cat to his home often home to play. He said that the cat’s noise and fur irritated the senior citizens due to which he got frustrated and threw the cat.

The accused’s domestic help made attempts to stop him and influence him to save the cat but he was so frustrated that he did not pay attention to any one saying anything and threw the cat out of the balcony.

Police inspector of Kasarvadavali police station, Nasir Kulkarni said, “The family who owned the cat filed the complaint. We checked the CCTV footage where it was clear that the accused threw her out of the balcony. We registered an FIR under cruelty towards animal and arrested him. As he was a senior citizen, he got bail immediately”.

Earlier, many such incidents of hurting animals or torturing them have taken place but police is taking action against them which is essential.
