GULZAR ‘S Magical words to be remembered on his birthday

Today is the day of the person who created a magic through his lyrics and gave wonderful songs to the people of India. The lyrics of songs has touched peoples’ hearts always. The legendary Gulzar’s birthday gives the nation to recall all the old evergreen songs like ‘Tere Bina Zindagi se koi shikwa to nhi’, “Huzur Is Kadar”, “Tum Aa Gaye Ho Noor Aa Gaya”, “Tujhse Naraz Nahin Zindagi”, “Yara Seeli Seeli” on his birthday.
The legendary writer, poet, lyricist, and film director had made a huge contribution to the field of music. He had written more than half a century of poetries and film songs.
Sampooran Singh Kalra who was born on 18 August 1934, popularly known as Gulzar, with his magical words is ruling the hearts of the nation. He was pen named as ‘Gulzar’ later on.

Gulzar in an interview said,” My thinking process starts with my pen. So, without lagging behind other I use my own method of putting pen to paper” when he was asked about if he has switched to writing on computers and tablets.
One of the most coveted lyricists and poets in India today, Gulzar has also directed groundbreaking films such as Aandhi and Mausam.

However, he stopped directing films a few years back to concentrate more on his books, the poet had such said recently in a television show. Gulzar had written some of the most legendary Hindi film songs including ‘Tujhse naraaz nahin zindagi’ and ‘Tumko dekha to ye khayal aaya’. Gulzar is the master of playing with words.

He has the ability to play with words like an expert. He blends Hindi words into Urdu and Urdu to Hindi. His poems weave the ordinary and everyday into something magical, yet something that every person can relate to.

Some of his books are: Bosky’s Panchatantra, Mirza Ghalib, In the company of a poet are the most read books of Gulzar. His own brand of cinema was about human relationships entangled in social issues, but veteran writer-filmmaker. Gulzar directed Parichay, Hu tu tu, Lekin, Koshish, Angoor, Ijaazat, masum are such fantastic movies directed by Gulzar.

Gulzar touched upon how people keep brooding over the difference between old and new melodies in Indian Cinema. Without Gulzar Indian cinema and poetry is wordless.
