Pune: Prostitution racket under the garb of Ayurvedic massage centre busted; one held, three women rescued

Pune: The Social Security Cell of the Crime Branch of the Pune Police busted a prostitution racket being run under the garb of an Ayurvedic massage centre in the Sinhagad Road area. A woman has been arrested while three women have been rescued.

The action was taken at the Morya Ayurvedic Massage Centre near the Jain temple in Manik Baug on Friday evening.

A case has been registered against a woman under the Trafficking in Persons (Prevention, Care and Rehabilitation) Act, 2021 and she has been arrested. Police person Reshma Ganpat Kank lodged a complaint in this regard.

A squad of the Social Security Cell came to know that a prostitution racket was being run under the garb of Morya Ayurvedic Massage Centre in flat number two of the Adarsh Apartment near Jain Mandir on Sinhagad Road.

A decoy customer was sent to confirm it. Then the police raided the centre. The accused was exploiting the victims and earning her livelihood. The police rescued three women from her clutches. Sr PI Vijay Kumbhar is investigating further.
