Google will invest $10 billion in India’s digital economy

New Delhi: Google CEO Sundar Pichai has announced a $10 billion digitization fund for India’s digital economy.

Pichai’s announcement came after his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday where he discussed issues such as leveraging the power of technology to transform the lives of India’s farmers and youth.

Taking on twitter, Pichai wrote, “Today at #GoogleForIndia we announced a new $10B digitization fund to help accelerate India’s digital economy.”

While, country Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote, “This morning, had an extremely fruitful interaction with Sundar Pichai. We spoke on a wide range of subjects, particularly leveraging the power of technology to transform the lives of India’s farmers, youngsters and entrepreneurs.”
