Gang terrorises people with sickles, choppers in Sinhgad College area; five, including two hardened criminals, held

PUNE : NpNews24 Online  –  Pune Crime News | The Sinhgad College area, where a few goons had terrorised people by attacking them with a sickle, witnessed another such incident recently. The goons were chased and beaten up by the police then. Another gang again tried to terrorise people by flaunting sickles and other sharp weapons in the area. (Pune Crime News)

 

The Bharati Vidyapeeth police arrested five people, including two history sheeters. Vikas Jitendra Chavda (30), resident of Vadgaon Budruk, Mohan Dharma Rathod (21), Sangram Dnyaneshwar Shirsath (21), Arjun Manohar Shinde (20), Aditya Chnadrakant Admane (20), resident of Vadgaon Budruk, have been arrested. Chavda and Rathod are the history sheeters.

 

Police constable Avinash Reve lodged a complaint at the Bharati Vidyapeeth police station in this regard. The incident happened at 2 am on Friday at the parking lot of the Sinhgad Institute Management on the Sinhgad College campus.

 

According to the police, six people arrived on three motorcycles at the parking lot. They were carrying sickles, choppers and other sharp weapons. They were terrorising people. The police control room received a tip-off about this. The patrol marshals reached the spot immediately. The gang members saw the police coming and dropped their arms and vehicles there and escaped from the spot.

 

The police chased them but they ran away taking advantage of the darkness. Five of the gang have been arrested. PSI Nitin Shinde is investigating.
