Former Pakistani Captain Shahid Afridi say Pakistan don’t need Kashmir

NP NEWS 24 ONLINE – Shahid Afridi is no doubt one of the most controversial cricketer ever produced by the Pakistan cricket team. Right from his early age he has managed to stay in news, first for his talent and hard hitting batting style and latter for his retirements and comebacks.

Now the Former Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi has made a bold statement on Kashmir controversy. “Pakistan doesn’t want Kashmir…Pakistan can’t even manage its four provinces,” the former cricket captain said in London.

In this bold statement he has said that Pakistan should first focus on the country and then it should think about Kashmir. He has also given advice to the Prime Minister Imran Khan.

“I say Pakistan doesn’t want Kashmir. Don’t give it to India either. Let Kashmir be independent. At least humanity will be alive. Let people not die…Pakistan doesn’t want Kashmir… It can’t even manage its four provinces…What is the big thing is insaniyat (humanity). People who are dying there, it is painful. Any death, be it from any community, is painful,” he said.

The video of Shahid Afridi saying these things has gone viral on social media.

This is not the first time he has made a controversial statement about Kashmir, he has tweeted saying, that there was an “appalling and worrisome situation” in Kashmir and urging the UN to intervene.

And before that, way back in 2016, Afridi had suggested that a lot of Kashmiri fans supported Pakistani cricketers.

In response to the comments, several Twitter users have reminded the cricketer that Pakistan has failed to dismantle terror sanctuaries on its soil and allows global terrorists like 26/11 mastermind Hafiz Saeed to roam freely.

Pakistan’s new government led by Imran Khan has not included Hafiz Saeed’s terror outfits in its latest ‘terror watch list’, according to a media report.

On 19 February 2017, Afridi announced his retirement from international cricket. However, he made a brief return to international cricket after being selected to represent and captain the World XI against West Indies in the 2018 Hurricane Relief T20 Challenge charity match. Following the conclusion of the match, Afridi announced his retirement from international cricket at the Lord’s cricket stadium on 31 May 2018.
