Former Lady CM lost from North East Delhi

Npnews24 Online : Parliamentary candidate from North East Delhi Manoj Tiwari registered a thumping victory in his constituency by securing a vote of 7, 87,799.

BJP Tiwari defeated congress candidate, also the former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit by a margin of 3, 66,102 votes. Congress Dixit got votes of 4,21,697. BJP racing towards registering a clean sweep it will be a huge blow to the congress party.

North East Delhi, after being formed in 2008 after the bifurcation of East Delhi, saw two key contests in 2009 and 2014.

First it was expected between BJP’s Manoj Tiwari and AAP’s Dilip Pandey but it became triangular when congress fielded former chief minister Sheila Dikshit.

BJP is currently leading all the seven parliamentary constituency seats, leaving zero seats for opponent congress and AAP.

Urban voters choose BJP over the others.
