Fire breaks out at orphanage in Pune camp area at midnight; 100 children safely rescued

Pune : NpNews24 Online  – Pune Fire | Fire broke out at Tayyabia Children’s Orphanage on East Street at around 12:45 am on Monday. The Fire Brigade rescued 100 children from the orphanage. As soon as the news about the fire was received in the control room of the fire brigade, a fire engine from the headquarters and Devdoot vehicle as well as the Pune cantonment fire teners reached the spot.

 

The orphanage has four floors. The children were scared because of the huge amount of smoke from the fire. The personnel immediately moved around 100 children (aged 6 to 16 years) in the building to a safe place away from the fire and smoke. A great calamity was thus averted. The fire was brought under control within 10 minutes. The ground floor of the orphanage was stocked with grain and other materials. Grain stocks and other materials were damaged due to fire. The fire brigade expressed the possibility that the fire was caused by a short circuit.
