FIR registered against police constable for demanding bribe

Pune : NpNews24 Online  – Pune ACB Trap | The ACB has registered an FIR against a police constable stationed at Bhigwan police station of Pune Rural Police for accepting a bribe of ₹20,000 after demanding ₹25,000. (Pune ACB Trap)

 

The accused has been identified as Ramdas Laxman Jadhav (Police constable, Bhigwan police station, Pune Rural Police). An FIR is registered at the Bhigan police station over a dispute over a farm owned by the complainant. Police Constable Ramdas Jadhav demanded a bribe of ₹25,000 to release a tractor which had been seized.

 

Since the complainant did not want to pay a bribe, he lodged a complaint with the ACB. The complaint was verified and it was found that Ramdas Jadhav had agreed to accept a bribe of ₹20,000 after a compromise. Later, an FIR was registered against Ramdas Jadhav at the Bhigwan police station under section seven of Prevention of Corruption Act.

 

The action was taken under the guidance of Pune ACB Amol Tambe and Addl SP Suraj Gurav. DySP Madhuri Bhosale is investigating the case.
