Mobile found in barrack of Yerawada Jail during checking
Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune Crime News | A shocking incident of a mobile being found in the bathroom of a barrack in the Yerawada Jail has come to light. On behalf of the jail administration, Sagar Bajirao Patil (38), a resident of Jail Quarters, Yerawada, has lodged a complaint (227/23) at the Yerawada police station. The incident took place on Monday evening in the bathroom of barrack number three. (Pune Crime News)
According to the police, all circles and barracks are regularly checked. On Monday evening, when Jail Officer Bhiru Somnath Khalbute and Atul Towar were searching the bathroom, they found that the metal sheet was bent in one place. When they searched that area, they found a mobile without a SIM card. The mobile had also been discharged.
They informed senior officials. IG Swati Sathe of the Prisons Department issued instructions that an FIR should be immediately registered against the culprits. The mobile is being checked to find out who used it and spoke to how many people. Later, an FIR was registered at the Yerawada police station. PSI Ashok Kate is probing the case.
