Father ablaze daughter over mobile addiction   

MUMBAI: NP NEWS 24 ONLINE- Coming across to stories like these makes everyone question on humanity. It is understood able that mobile addiction is anytime more addictive than cigarettes or anything. We often come across lectures given by parents regarding mobile addictions and sometimes parent also put restrictions in the usage.

In October, a 19-year-old from Delhi who stabbed his father and mother 26 times, and sister seven times apparently was addicted to online games. There were various cases where we have observed the addict to kill someone or taking drastic measures but here the story is totally different.

A shocking incident came under light after a man allegedly set his teenage daughter ablaze over ‘phone addiction’ in Palghar district of Maharashtra. The police officials have arrested the accused father.

the 16-year-old victim girl is battling for her life in the district hospital. The girl was set ablaze by her 40-year-old father at their residence. Police officials said that the accused was apparently angry with his daughter for being continuously hooked to her mobile phone every time.

It is being claimed that the victim has suffered 70 per cent burn injuries in the incident and was currently undergoing treatment at JJ Hospital. The accused was identified as Mohamad Mansuri.

Followed by an argument with his daughter, the accused drenched her in kerosene and set her on fire. However, other family members were away from the house when the incident occurred.

The victim was immediately rushed to the hospital by her neighbours. The deputy superintendent of police, Virar, Jayant Bajbale told that the accused father used to do odd jobs for a living. However, the police have arrested Mansuri and he was booked for murder under section 307 of the Indian Penal Code.
