Drug Case : Rhea Chakraborty’s Judicial Custody Extended Till October 20

Mumbai: Judicial custody of Rhea Chakraborty, who has been arrested for her involvement in a drugs case related to the Sushant Singh Rajput case has been extended. The Mumbai court has extended the judicial remand of Rhea and Shouvik Chakraborty till October 20. Judicial custody period of Rhea Chakraborty, Shouvik Chakraborty and 18 other accused who were arrested for the purchase of drugs, was ending today.

In the previous hearing, the special court had extended the period of judicial custody of Rhea Chakraborty till October 6. Apart from this, a decision on the petition filed by Rhea Chakraborty for bail can also come from the High Court today.

At the same time, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has strongly opposed the bail pleas of Rhea Chakraborty, Shouvik Chakraborty and 18 other accused, saying that their bail application should be rejected.

The NCB said that a strong message needs to be given to the society, especially the youth, that they should avoid the consumption of drugs. If they do drugs, then the same process will be adopted with them. Significantly, on September 8, NCB arrested Rhea Chakraborty after several rounds of questioning.

If Rhea Chakraborty is found guilty in this case, she can be sentenced to up to ten years. The NCB is investigating the drug angle in the Sushant Singh Rajput case. NCB has also found many important clues in this investigation, so far NCB has made 18 arrests.
