Doctor of Sassoon Hospital arrested for accepting bribe of ₹60,000
Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune ACB Trap | The Pune ACB has arrested a doctor working in the Sassoon Hospital for demanding a bribe of ₹60,000 to get a disability certificate for a person. An FIR has been registered against the doctor at the Bund Garden police station. (Pune ACB Trap)
The arrested doctor has been identified as Dr Pavan Bhila Shirsath (43) of BJ Medical College and Sassoon Hospital, Pune. The complainant is a government employee and he had made an application at the Sassoon Hospital for getting a disability certificate. Dr Pavan Shirsath initially demanded ₹60,000 and later reduced it to ₹50,000 on April 3 and 6, 2023.
Since the complainant did not want to pay a bribe, he lodged a complaint with the ACB.
The complaint was verified. At that time, Dr Pavan Shirsath demanded a bribe of ₹60,000 and accepted it in the presence of panches. The ACB team apprehended him after he took the bribe. Since a doctor of Sassoon Hospital has been arrested for accepting a bribe of ₹60,000, it has created a flutter in medical circles.
Pune ACB SP Amol Tambe and Addl SP Suraj Gurav guided a team led by PI Praneta Sangolkar and her team in taking the action. PI Sangolkar is probing the case.
