PUNE-NP NEWS NETWORK-It seems the trouble for the former Pune deputy mayor and NCP corporator Deepak Mankar is yet to be over. After being arrested in the suicide case of a social worker, Mankar and his accomplices have now been booked by Pune city police for allegedly grabbing properties worth crores of a woman.

Aditi Madhav Dikshit (52), a resident of Prabhat Road, has lodged an FIR against Deepak Madhavrao Mankar of Bhandarkar road, Sadhana Vartak and Mukund Parshuram Dikshit, both residents of Kothrud.

As per the FIR registered with Kothrud police station, the incident took place between 2003 and 2018 at Sneh Paradise society on Paud road and Bank of Maharashtra Paudphata branch. “The accused persons entered into conspiracy and made bogus documents of my land at Shivajinagar, Sadhu Vaswani chowk and Pimpri Waghire and sold them to third persons which caused a loss of crores of rupees to me”, the woman stated in her complaint.

Police have booked the accused persons for offences under sections 420 (cheating), forgery under the Indian Penal Code. Police inspector Khatke is further investigating the case.

Mankar surrendered to Pune city police on August 1, in an abetment to suicide. Pune City Police have slapped Deepak Mankar with stringent MCOCA.
Earlier, the Supreme Court rejected the anticipatory (pre-arrest) bail application of Deepak Mankar in connection with abetment of suicide of Jitendra Jagtap, brother of policeman Shailesh Jagtap, in a land dispute case.

Jitendra’s body was found in two parts near Hadapsar railway station after he allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a train on June 5.

A day later, based on the suicide note and picture in his pocket, the Samarth police station registered the case of abatement to suicide based on the statement of deceased’s son Jayesh (26). Jitendra’s brother Shailendra is noted cop in Pune police better known as the gunman.

Initially, Jitendra’s death was recorded as an accidental death by the Pune railway police. Later his son registered a criminal case to Pune city police. The Supreme Court on July 27 had dismissed their bail and ordered them to appear before police within 10 days.

Earlier the crime branch, Pune, had arrested Mankar on July 2, 2009, for allegedly trying to grab the land of a retired professor, Yashwant Natu (65), of Shukrawar Peth.
