At the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai on Sunday, Ajay Thakur scored an impressive 14 points to lead his team to their first victory at home while Amit Hooda kept opposition captain Pardeep Narwal from running away with the game and scored 4 tackle points in the process. On the hand Patna’s Pradeep Narwal also score a super 10 but it b went in vain.

The match was against the experience of Manjeet Chillar, Jasprit Singh and Deepk Hooda versus the young blood of Pradeep Narwal. The raiders of Patana Played well but the defence was not at all performing.

Narwal reached his Super 10 in the 18th minute and brought about a Tamil Thalaivas All-Out in the closing minutes of the match but it was too late for any kind of fightback from Patna. The Thalaivas sealed an easy 16-point win in their first home game. Between them, Narwal and Manjeet scored 19 of the Pirates’26 points while the team managed just 2 tackle points in the entire game.

Maharashtrian Derby too good for each other

With the experience of Nitin Tomar and young legs of Monu Puneri Paltan manged to keep U Mumba out away from a win. U Mumba’s captain Fazel Atrachali scored 4 tackle points and showed that U Mumba might miss the raider Anup but not the captain Anup Kumar. A new name Siddharth Desai from U Mumba has come up as an raider. Yesterday U Mumba’s defence could not perform up to the mark.

Tomar, though, had other ideas, managing three straight successful raids to cut U Mumba’s lead to just 2 points.

With the game slightly in U Mumba’s favour at 29-28, , captain Atrachali executed two perfect Ankle Holds on Sandeep Narwal and G B More to maintain his team’s upper hand. Cheralathan’s brilliant tackle on Tomar with a minute left took U Mumba’s lead to 32-30 and seemed to have sealed a derby win for his side.
