CBI gets 90 more days to file chargesheet in Dabholkar murder case

NP News 24 Pune  : The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has been granted 90 more days to file the chargesheet against the accused in the murder probe of Dr Narendra Dabholkar . A Special Court on Thursday granted more days to the investigative agency against Sanatan Sanstha member Vikram Bhave.

Bhave is accused of reconnoitring the place where two persons shot Dabholkar on August 20, 2013 and showing them the escape route. 

Bhave and advocate Sanjiv Punalekar were arrested on May 25 this year from Mumbai. 
The CBI informed that Punalekar advised the shooter Sharad Kalaskar to destroy the weapon after the murder, while Bhave recced the place where Dabholkar was shot dead.

Public Prosecuter Prakash Suryavanshi told the court, “Sharad Kalaskar and Sachin Andure fired at Dabholkar on the Omkareshwar bridge. About 15 days before the murder, Bhave drove triple seat with Kalaskar and Andure on a bike and showed them the area around the bridge and how to escape from there.”
According to CBI, Bhave is a convict in 2008 bomb blast at a theatre in Thane. He was released on bail in May 2013.
