Bihar: FIR against Tejashwi, Tej Pratap in Purnia RJD leader murder case

Patna : The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has suffered a major setback just before the assembly elections in Bihar. The Bihar Police on Sunday filed an FIR against six people, including the party’s top leaders Tejashwi Yadav, Tej Pratap Yadav and Anil Kumar Sadhu, in the murder of former RJD leader Shakti Malik.

Based on the statement recorded by the family, six people including former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, former Health Minister Tej Pratap Yadav, State President of SCST Cell Anil Kumar Sadhu Paswan, RJD leader Kalo Paswan of Araria were charged with murder under conspiracy. A case has been registered at Kehat police station. Purnia Superintendent of Police Vishal Sharma has confirmed filing an FIR.

Shakti Malik, former secretary of RJD’s Scheduled Caste-Tribe Cell, was shot and killed by criminals on Sunday morning. Khushboo Devi, wife of the deceased Shakti, has filed an FIR in this case against 6 people including Tejashwi Yadav, Tej Pratap Yadav and Anil Kumar Sadhu. Family members allege that these people threatened to kill Shakti.

Shakti Malik was murdered by 3 masked criminals in his house and all then escaped from there. At that time there was only a driver in the house apart from his child and a wife. Shakti was immediately brought to Sadar Hospital where the doctor declared him dead.

Shakti Malik had joined the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) in 2019 and was then made the secretary of the Scheduled Caste-Tribe Cell of the party.

Serious allegations were leveled against Tejashwi

However, in the past, serious allegations were made by Shakti Malik against Tejashwi Yadav. He had said that when he met Tejashwi to contest elections from Raniganj assembly, he demanded Rs 50 lakh from him. Shakti had also alleged that during his meeting with Tejashwi, caste remarks were made on him.

A video of Shakti Malik also went viral in which he was seen accusing Tejashwi Yadav of demanding money. In this viral video, Malik was narrating how he met RJD leader Anil Kumar Sadhu, Tejashwi and demanded a ticket for the election from Raniganj assembly seat.

Amid the Bihar elections, the police have started the investigation into the Shakti Malik murder case and are continuously raiding for the criminals. The registration of an FIR on the top RJD leader is considered a big blow to the party.
