Aurangabad Train Accident : Migrant Laborers Took Rail Tracks to Hide from Police Patrolling

New Delhi : Out of 21, all 16 poor laborers who were sleeping on the railway tracks in Aurangabad died and since there was police patrolling on the highway, they chose the rail tracks to hide from police. According to the information, all these laborers were from Madhya Pradesh. A group of 21 workers had left for home. 16 died while five laborers survived the tragic accident.

All these laborers were working in the steel factory of Jalna. It was told that they were trying to arrange a train ticket for several days, but did not succeed. After this they thought that by reaching Aurangabad, there might be some means available. Since all were residents of Madhya Pradesh…… 9 people were from Shahdol …. 6 people were from Umaria and 1 laborer was from Katni…. They all knew other so they had left for Aurangabad in group.

Roads are blocked and the police are posted, they were going Aurangabad using rail tracks. The distance from Jalna to Aurangabad is 59 kilometers. All the workers walked on foot at reached Karmad at night. After walking for about 38 km, they sat on the track just before Karmad. After walking such a long journey, everyone fell asleep due to tiredness…. and around five and a half in the morning, the goods train coming from Secunderabad crushed these laborers.

It was dark in the morning and the goods train was in speed. The driver sensed something on the track and honked. But tired workers were in deep sleep. No one heard the horn. The loco pilot applied the emergency brake but by then it was too late. By the time the goods train stopped,16 workers was crushed and died on the spot. The journey of their life was over forever. There were a total of 21 people in this group of laborers. Sixteen of these people were lying on the tracks at some distance, while five laborers were lying away from the tracks. Those who were lying away from the tracks survived in this accident.
