Asia Cup 2018: India to buckle up, Hardik Pandya out of team India!

Team India’s all-rounder Hardik Pandya is now out of cricket team due to injury.

On Wednesday, during Ind vs Pak cricket match in which India got its victory, Hardik suffered a severe back injury while bowling and fell down, immediately after which he was taken out on a stretcher out of the field for treatment.

There are chances of all-rounder Deepak Chahal to replace Hardik Pandya.

According to BCCI sources, Chahal has left for Dubai. Deepak had entered in International cricket since England T20 series was held. Previously, Deepak had also replaced bhumrah when he was injured.

The incident took place in the 18th over of the Pakistan innings when all-rounder Pandya was bowling his fifth over, it was the fifth delivery and Pandya, after completing the follow through, he suddenly felt his lower back aching and laid down on the ground in  pain.

He was then  taken out of the field immediately on the stretcher. Manish Pandey took the responsibility of fielding on behlaf of Hardik. While Kedar Jadhav’s bowling, Manish Pandey took the wicket of Pakistan’s captain by taking his catch.

An hour after the incident, the message came from the team management that Pandya was able to stand and is being monitored. The Indian team management termed it as an acute lower back injury, which ruled him out of the game.

This is the third incident in the last three months that an Indian player was broken down during an important fixture. Bhuvneshwar Kumar got injured in the final ODI in England in July while R Ashwin aggravated his injury in the fourth Test last month.
