Anganwadi toilet serves for midday meal kitchen

NPnews24 Online, Bhopal: A toilet in Madhya Pradesh is being used for reasons beyond its intended purpose. In complete hygienic norms toilet in Shivpuri district rural child care centre has been converted into full-fledged kitchen.

Due to the lack of space to prepare food for children at an anganwadi centre, its toilet is being used as a makeshift kitchen. More shocking is that food cooked regularly there and served to the children as well.

Rajkumari Yogi, a anganwadi staff told that they don’t have any other section to cook. Issue to the lack of cooking space was raised several times, but no suitable action was taken.

While Priyanka Bunkar, Project Officer of Women and Child Development Department denied the question rose on hygiene, and said toilet construction is not complete.
