But it looks like that the Air Hostess are finding it difficult to stay safe during air travel as an air hostess of Air India have fallen off the train.

A 53-year-old Air India air hostess was injured after she fell from an aircraft while attempting to close the door of a New Delhi-bound flight Monday morning at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA), the airline officials said.

The incident took place in the morning on the Air India’s New Delhi-bound flight AI 864.

“In an unfortunate incident today, one of our cabin crew Ms.Harsha Lobo, operating flight AI-864, BOM-DEL, fell down on tarmac from B777 aircraft door L5 while closing it. She sustained injuries to her legs and has been taken to Nanavati hospital for further treatment. Air India is enquiring into the incident,” the airline said in a statement.

About three years ago, an Air India engineer had got sucked into the aircraft’s engine at the airport here when the pilots started the engines prematurely after mistaking a signal.

Last week, a Dubai-bound Air India Express flight, IX 611, struck a wall at the end of Trichy airport’s runway during take-off. It diverted to Mumbai and had flown with a ripped underbelly for four hours when it landed.
