Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar’s birth anniversary: 5,000 kg misal and butter milk distributed to 1 lakh people

Pune :  NpNews24 Online  – Ambedkar Jayanti | On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, 5,000 kg misal and butter milk was distributed to one lakh people. On the occasion of Mahatma Phule’s birth anniversary and Dr Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, 10,000 kg missal was distributed.

The programme was organised near Pune railway station by Krantisurya Mahatma Jyotiba Phule and Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti Samiti. The missal and butter milk was prepared by internationally renowned chef Vishnu Manohar. The process of preparing both the items started at 3 am. At 8 am, in the presence of Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil and chiefs of all political parties, the flame was lit after pouring spices and all ingredients. Later, misal was prepared in a giant vessel and butter milk was prepared in another giant vessel. All residents who had come to salute Dr Ambedkar were given misal and butter milk was distributed to one lakh people.

Senior educationist PA Inamdar, former MP Sanjay Kakade, former MLA Jaidev Gaikwad, former mayor Murlidhar Mohol, Prashant Jagtap, Chairman of Pune People’s Bank Ad Subhash Mohite, Kishor Chavan of VHP, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Shikshan Prasarak Mandali President Jaya Kirad, Treasurer of AISSMS Ajay Patil, former mayor Saraswati Shendge, senior social worker Anand Saraf were present.

To prepare 5,000 kg misal, 500 kg moth beans, 300 kg onion, 100 kg ginger, 100 kg garlic, 350 kg oil, misal masala 130 kg, chilli powder 25 kg, 25 kg turmeric, 20 kg salt, grated coconut 70 kg, cinnamon leaf 5 kg, farsan 1,200 kg, 4,000 litres of water and 50 coriander sticks were used. For preparing butter milk, a huge quantity of curd, coriander, salt and other ingredients were used.
