Action under MCOCA against Yogesh Jagdhane and his 3 accomplices from Bibvewadi area

MCOCA action has been taken against Gang leader Yogesh Ramesh Jagdhane (26) from Bibvewadi, gang members Umesh Ramesh Jagdhane (31) from Bibwewadi, Vikas alias Sonya Gangaram Rathod (23) Bibvewadi and a minor. A case has been registered against the accused under sections 307,323,504,506,34 of the IPC, Maharashtra Police Act, Arm Act. The accused were sent to the Yerwada Central Jail. Their minor companion has been detained.
Serious crimes of robbery, preparation for robbery, injuring with a sharp weapon, forcible theft by threatening with dangerous weapons, death threats have been registered at the Bibvewadi Police Station against the arrested accused. Preventive action was taken against them. However, they have again committed serious crimes.
Senior Police Inspector Sangita Jadhav had proposed to invoke Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA) in the case registered at the Bibvewadi Police Station through DCP Vikrant Deshmukh to the Addl CP Ranjan Kumar Sharma. After investigating the matter, strict action was ordered against the gang. ACP Wanawadi Division Pornima Taware is conducting further investigation.
The action was taken by a team comprising Sr PI Sangita Jadhav, PI Crime Anita Hivarkar, PSI Vivek Sisal, PSI Vikrant Dige, Assistant PSI Rajkumar Barbole, along with police personnel from Surveillance Squad Daiwat Shedge, Anil Dolse under the guidance of CP Retesh Kumaarr, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Additional Commissioner of Police Ranjan Kumar Sharma, Deputy Commissioner of Police Vikrant Deshmukh, Assistant Commissioner of Police Pornima Taware.
