A rare yellow frogs spotted in MP, video gone viral !

Bhopal: In a video showing a large group of yellow Indian bullfrogs enjoying in a small water body has gone viral on the internet. Which was shared by the Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Parveen Kaswan on his Twitter handler.

According to Kaswan, a huge number of yellow Indian bullfrogs were seen at Narsinghpur in Madhya Pradesh.

Kaswan shared the footage with the caption, “Have you ever seen Yellow frogs. Also in this number. They are Indian #bullfrog seen at Narsighpur. They change to yellow during monsoon & for attracting the females. Just look how they are enjoying rains (sic).”

The bullfrogs are usually not this bright yellow in colour. The males change to this colour during the breeding season to attract mates. This natural phenomenon happens during the monsoon season.

After sharing the clip, Kaswan also posted a picture of the yellow Indian bullfrog, giving netizens a glimpse of what these amphibians look like during mating season. He also shared that this phenomenon has nothing to do with Covid-19 or the locusts attack.

He added that this behaviour is very normal, but the only issue is “whether so many males will get their ladies. The competition is real.”
