30 flights cancelled, 118 delayed at Mumbai airport

Np News 24 Mumbai: Heavy rainfall in Mumbai had affected the flight operations at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA)  for the second day with cancellation of 30 flights and another 118 getting delayed on Thursday.
As per a live flight-tracking website, 14 incoming and 16 outbound flights were cancelled on Thursday, while 118 flights were delayed.
In a brief statement, Mumbai International Airport Airport Ltd (MIAL) said that ‘operations are normal’. Indigo said in a statement on Thursday that operations had resumed as per the schedule. The operations at the Mumbai airport were disrupted as rains crippled the city.Around 20 flights, most of them of IndiGo, were cancelled on Wednesday and 455 flights were delayed due to the incessant rain.
The Mumbai airport witnesses around 1,000 flight arrivals and departures per day.  Local trains were also affected as rains lashed Mumbai enundating roads and several areas of the city.  Many area also witnessed power cuts.  The city is witnessing heavy rainfall since Wednesday which also caused traffic jam on roads leading to Mumbai.
