3 hurt due to tree collapse
NPnews24 Online Gorpadi: Three people, including a pregnant woman and her younger, were injured as a tree collapsed on an auto rickshaw in Wanwadi area on Monday.
The autorickshaw driver was also injured on Monday afternoon. On Monday, a tree collapsed on a busy road at around 4 pm on the outskirts of Fatima Nagar on Wanwadi Road.
The residents ran to help the passengers as they were injured. At the time, the woman and her child were taken out and were admitted to the nearby private hospital for treatment. The citizens said that the injured woman is pregnant.
Meanwhile, due to the tree collapse, there was a huge traffic jam on the road. People were stuck in the jam for about an hour. There was a long line of vehicles on both sides of the road.
After the authorities were informed, Kondhwa firefighters reached the spot and removed the tree by cutting the tree. Then later, the road was unblocked and traffic flow became smoother.
In the meantime, the city bas been witnessing tree collapse in several are. The incidents of tree collapses have been on a rose due to continuous rains.
On Monday, fire brigade’s control room received information about tree collapse at 15 different place in the city.
