10 days strict lockdown in Pune, PCMC from July 13

Pune: As a measure to curb rise in coronavirus cases, there will be 10 days lockdown once again in the Pune city and in Pimpri Chinchwad area, in cantonment zones and in haveli taluka from 12 pm of July 13 to 12 pm of July 23.

The state government has given instruction to the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) to take strict measures to curb the spread of coronavirus.

Divisional Commissioner, Deepak Mhaisekar said, “In this 10 days lockdown duration only milk, medical shops and hospitals will be open during this time, and other services will be closed.

Mhaisekar added, “After July 19 we will review a situation take a decision on opening other shops and giving some relaxation, for that detailed guidelines will be issued soon.”

Persons associated with essential services will be issued online e-pass for movement, while other people have advised to stay at their homes.

Pune district collector Naval Kishore Ram also attended the meeting. He said, “This strict lockdown is to curb the spread of diseases and people have to abide it from July 13.”

As, of now the total number of COVID positive patients has reached 25,174, out of which 15,579 have been cured while 786 deaths have been reported.
