New Delhi : World Health Day is celebrated worldwide on 7 April every year. In this sequence, we will tell how you can recognize the symptoms of heart attack and get treatment on time. The number of people who die of high attack and stroke is increasing rapidly in India.

A heart attack is a fatal condition in which a person may die within seconds. That is why it is said that you should not ignore any heart related symptoms. If you notice any signs then you should contact the doctor immediately. So that you can avoid this deadly disease.

What is heart attack


A heart attack occurs when something blocks the flow of blood in your heart. It is caused by many substances like cholesterol, fat. Due to which, plaque forms in the arteries (coronary arteries) that carry blood to the heart. Due to which the heart does not get oxygen. Due to which heart muscles are destroyed which causes heart attack.

Symptoms of Heart Attack


– Pressure, tightness or a feeling of pain in your chest or arms that may extend to your neck, jaw or back.

– Vomiting, indigestion or abdominal pain

– Respiratory Problems

– Sweating
– Fatigue

– Sudden Dizziness

– Swelling of Feet

Symptoms are not the same
According to the Mayo Clinic, there are many people who do not have the same symptoms as some people have mild pain, while others have more severe pain. There are many people who do not see symptoms at all. For others, the first sign may be a sudden cardiac arrest. However, the more symptoms you have, the more likely you are to have a heart attack.

Some people have sudden heart attacks, but many people have warning signs and symptoms from hours, days, or weeks in advance. The earliest warning may be pain or pressure in the chest (angina). Angina is caused by a temporary decrease in blood flow to the heart.

Such people are more at risk of heart attack
Age : 
Men are 45 years or older and women 55 years or older are more likely to have a heart attack.

Tobacco Smokers are also at higher risk.

High Blood Pressure High blood pressure can damage your heart’s arteries. Along with this, high blood pressure promotes diseases like obesity, high cholesterol or diabetes.

Diabetes The production of hormones by insulin in the body is reduced. Due to which the amount of sugar in your body increases which causes heart attack.

Obesity Obesity is associated with high blood cholesterol level, high triglyceride level, high blood pressure, and diabetes. However, if you reduce your weight by 10 percent, then you can reduce the risk of heart attack to a great extent.

Genetic If someone in your family has had this disease then you are more likely to get a heart attack.

Tension If you take too much stress then it can become a cause of heart attack.

Prescription drugs If you consume things like cocaine or amphetamine, it can trigger a spasm of your coronary arteries that can lead to a heart attack.

Take care of yourself like this
– Minimize the intake of coffee, tea, etc. It contains caffeine in excess.

– If you have a habit of drinking tea, then drink herbal or green tea.

– Drink at least 8 to 10 glasses of water daily.

– Do some exercise daily. This can include cycling, walking, swimming and yoga.

– Use a minimum of salt in food.

– Get good sleep every day. This sleep should be around 7-8 hours.

– Better not to smoke.

– Eat more and more of such things which are rich in vitamins and minerals.
