World Cup 2019 : ‘This’ was the Reason Team India Lost the Match, Revealed Dinesh Karthik

New Delhi : Team India lost to New Zealand in the semi-finals of the ICC World Cup-2019. After which crores of Indian cricket fan’s heart was broken. This defeat left Indian cricket fans’ dream of winning the World Cup incomplete. After a long time, Dinesh Karthik has broken the silence on this. He has revealed the reason behind this defeat. Karthik said in his statement that Virat had suddenly changed the strategy due to the quick wickets. There were changes in the batting order.

Karthik was not ready to bat before Dhoni –
Dinesh Karthik said in an interview given to a website that he was suddenly asked to bat at number 5. Whereas before the match, it was decided that he would go to bat at number 7. Even Dinesh Karthik was not ready when he was asked to bat at number 5. Dinesh Karthik says that it was shocking for him that he was sent to bat before Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

New Zealand gave the Indian team a target of 240 runs to win. The goal was not too difficult for India. But, the New Zealand bowlers gave India initial shocks one after the other. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul i.e. India’s top 3 batsmen returned to the pavilion scoring just one run. After which team lost the confidence.

Questions also raised on Dhoni –
By the time Dhoni came on the field, New Zealand team had almost won the match. Everyone’s hopes were rested on Dhoni. But this time he could not win the match and returned to the pavilion after a run out. He scored a half-century in the semi-finals, but used 70 balls. This is the reason that he was also criticized after the loss in the match. Many big players including Gautam Gambhir had asked that if Mahendra Singh Dhoni can promote his batting order in the 2011 World Cup, then why did he not do it in 2019? Dinesh Karthik’s latest statement raises this question more seriously.
