Worker Arrested for Allegedly Tainting Samosas with Condoms, Stones, and Gutkha in Pune

Pune: In a startling incident driven by anger over a cancelled food supply contract, the owner of a food supply company, along with accomplices, allegedly conspired to sabotage samosas by adding condoms, stones, and gutkha. The devious plot unfolded between 7:30 am to 8:45 am on March 27th at the company’s canteen located on Spine Road, Chikhli.

The aggrieved party, Kirtikumar Shankarao Desai, aged 36 and a resident of Patilnagar, Balewadi, Pune, lodged a complaint at Chikhli Police Station on Sunday, April 7th. Desai accused five individuals, including the company owner, in his complaint. Among them, one worker has been arrested. The case has been registered under IPC 328 and sections 120(b) and 34 against all the accused.

According to the police report, Desai serves as an Assistant General Manager at Catalyst Service Solutions Partners Private Limited Company, based in Aundh. His company had secured a contract to supply food to a prominent company in Chikhli. As part of this arrangement, Desai’s company engaged SRS Enterprises, based in Morwadi, Pimpri, to supply samosas.

Trouble arose when initial batches of samosas delivered by SRS Enterprises were found to contain first aid bandages. Faced with such unacceptable quality, Desai’s company promptly terminated the contract with SRS Enterprises. Subsequently, they forged an agreement with Manohar Enterprises, another company in Pune, to fulfil their food supply requirements.

Enraged by this turn of events, the owners of SRS Enterprises, identified as Rahim Sheikh, Azar Sheikh, and Mazhar Sheikh, allegedly devised a sinister plan to seek revenge. The accused enlisted the help of their workers, Feroze Sheikh alias Mantu and Vicky Sheikh, to infiltrate Manohar Enterprises as daily wage workers.

Acting under the instructions of SRS Enterprises’ owners, Feroze and Vicky purportedly contaminated the samosas with condoms, stones, and gutkha, aiming to sabotage Desai’s company’s contract with Manohar Enterprises. Upon discovering the tampering, Desai wasted no time in reporting the matter to the authorities, prompting swift action from the police.

Feroze Sheikh alias Mantu has been apprehended in connection with the case, while investigations continue to apprehend the other accused individuals involved in the malicious scheme.
