Pune: Wakad Police Busted Illegal Prostitution Racket From Pimple Saudagar; Arrested Two Accused (Video)

Pune: The Anti-Human Traffic Cell of the Pimpri Crime Branch (PCB) has taken decisive action against brokers who are running an illegal prostitution racket under the guise of a spa centre in the Pimple Saudagar area of Pimpri Chinchwad. In this action taken by the PCB, police rescued two victim girls and apprehended two brokers from the scene.

This action was taken by the Anti-Human Traffic Cell of the Pimpri Crime Branch on Sunday, April 7, at around 7.30 p.m. in ‘The Gold Thai’ Spa Centre at Pimple Saudagar. In this regard, spa centre owner Ranjit Singh, alias Nil Rajput (30), a resident of Swastik Palms, Thane, and a female spa manager have been booked and arrested under Sections 3, 4, 5 of IPC 370(3), and 34 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956.

The Anti-Human Traffic Cell earlier received a tip-off from their intelligence that some brokers are running an illegal prostitution racket in the Pimple Saudagar area, camouflaging it as a spa centre from outside. However, due to the absence of any concrete evidence, the police were not able to do much.

However, on Sunday, while the police officers and enforcers of the Immoral Traffic Prevention Cell Department were patrolling the Wakad Police Station limits, they got the specific information that the prostitution business was going on in the spa centre called ‘The Golden Thai’ at Shop No. 117 of Spot 18 Mall in Pimple Saudagar area. The team confirmed the authenticity of the news by sending its officer posing them as customers.

After confirmation of the news, the team conducted a surprise raid on the spa centre and arrested two people regarding it. The police learned that two victim girls were forced into the profession by the accused for their own personal monetary gain. Subsequently, police rescued two victims.

Wakad police also recovered valuables worth Rs 3,000 from the scene and took both accused into custody. A case has been registered at the Wakad police station after detaining the accused, and further investigation in this case is being done by the Wakad police.
