Why did the country forget the General Shah Nawaz Khan?

Today is his 29th death anniversary.

NP NEWS 24 ONLINE- When Muslims from India were going to Pakistan, he had left his entire family in Pakistan and came to Hindustan. People associated with his family are now at the high positions in the Pakistan army. He had worked with Subhash Chandra Bose in Azad Hind Fauj. When the British army arrested and put him in the Red Fort,  at that time the country’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru advocated for him in the famous Red Fort Court Marshal Trial. We are talking about General Shahnawaz Khan. Today is his 29th death anniversary.

Shahnawaz Khan was elected as a MP for four times in independent India and was a ministers of several important ministries. He adopted the mother of famous Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan.

He remained connected with the Congress party till the last. Sonia Gandhi’s husband, Rajiv Gandhi was trained under his directions. But today, on the occasion of his death, no single Congress leader has reached his Mazar. On the other hand, the entire Congress party was busy congratulating Sonia Gandhi.  Sonia Gandhi received congratulation messages from the newspaper’s first page ad to TV channels. But none of the Congress leader has even thought of giving flowers on the Mazar of General Shah Nawaz Khan.

On the occasion of the 29th death anniversary of General Shah Nawaz Khan, the tribute meeting was organized by the General Shah Nawaz Memorial Foundation at his Mazar at Jama Masjid, but no Congress leader (except the people of the family) was present for this meeting. Adil Shah Nawaz, grandson of the founder General Shah Nawaz Khan, highlighted the foundation’s important objectives.

Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan’s father, came to India from Pakistan with General Shah Nawaz Khan. Shah Rukh Khan’s mother Mumtaz was adopted by General Shah Nawaz Khan and he had also arranged her marriage with General Shahnawaz Khan. Shah Rukh Khan himself linked himself to the freedom fighters family on several occasions.

General Shahnawaz Khan, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and many independent leaders of the Azad Hind Fauj fought for the freedom of India by sacrificing   their lives, but today people of this country are not even remember their names. It is the need of time to remember the legacy of such great sun of the country.
